Psychotherapy Exposed: The Unconscious
By: Daniel Leeman, LCSW
Dr. Lena Pearlman & Associates
“The Unconscious is nothing other than that which we have been unable
to formulate in clear concepts‚ÄĚ (Alfred Adler 1956). Unraveling the
mystery of the unconscious moves us from something that seems like
science fiction, to modern science, and we are able to see why theory
like this is so important.
Since the creation of the idea of, ‚ÄėThe Unconscious,‚Äô neuroscience,
psychiatry, psychology, counseling, and social work have developed a
sharper idea of what the unconscious means and represents. While still
an important abstract idea, recent research has given us insight into
what early psychotherapists first saw when they treated their patients.
Originally the unconscious and it’s function was mapped using abstract
ideas such as... (more)
Business What Is Mica?
Mica is a naturally occurring mineral, based on a group of silicate
minerals composed of varying amounts of aluminum, potassium, magnesium,
iron and water having thin sheet-like or plate-like structure with
different composition and physical properties.
All Mica form flat six-sided monoclinic crystals with a remarkable
cleavage in the direction of large surfaces, which permits them to be
easily cleaved into optically flat films. When cleaved into thin films,
they remain tough and elastic even at high temperatures.
Mica possesses some of the most outstanding combinations of chemical,
physical, electrical, thermal and mechanical properties which cannot
found in any other insulating product.
Mica is a biaxial birefringent crystal. Its average refractive index
in the visible spectrum is about 1.6. Because of its birefringence, it
can be used to cause a phase delay between two orthogonal components of
preacher314 personal forgiveness
"Father, forgive them for they don't know what
they are doing" (Luke 23:34a).
If you wish to see forgiveness, look to the cross
of Christ. There you will see forgiveness in its
purest form. Even as the Savior hung upon the
cross, even as every one of the world's sins --
your sins, my sins, everybody's sins -- rested
upon Him, even as men gambled for His clothing
and laughed at His pain, He called out: "Father,
forgive them for they don't know what they
are doing" (Luke 23:34a).
Do you prefer forgiveness to be more personal?
Look into your own heart, at your own conscience,
and know the worst sins that you find there are --
because of Jesus' suffering, death, and
resurrection -- gone.
Forgiveness? Look to the cross and remember that
place where died all our dark and devious deeds,
all our foul and filthy feelings.
Forgiveness? Look to the cross where your
forgiveness was won. Look into the Savior's empty,
open tomb and see His victory.... (more)
The NZacher 2016 - Another 3 years on from my last post
Hello Internet. It's me again. It's been a while. I hope you have been well. I hope that you've had a decent amount of happiness during my absence. Seriously, I really hope that you've been mostly happy because what you're about to read is an "eye rolling - oh no here he goes again" segment. I guess I'll jump straight to it.
Here I am three years on where my heart has been ripped to shreds and reassembled together - twice. I really don't know what to say to that anymore and I'm not sure how much more I can take this. I feel like every effort that I've made to secure happiness somehow just seems to fall apart. I feel trapped in my current situation as I don't see any way out of it. I am aware that every hardship is temporary but for me it's more of a case where I don't think I can take another hit of this.
So, the plan this year (and possibly) the next few years was the following:
1. Get together with someone i.e. girlfriend
2. Secure a home in this challenging housing market
3. Go... (more)
